28 Rooms for Rent in Delft

Delft is a compact city of ~100,000 inhabitants in the province of South Holland, between Rotterdam and The Hague. Delft is known for Delft Blue pottery, the painter Vermeer and its historic canals with the Old Church and the New Church.

Many people come to Delft for Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), one of the largest technical universities in Europe. Thanks to the university the city has a large student and international population, and the city center is lively and easy to explore by bike.

Delft is small and popular, so there is a clear housing shortage. The average rent of a room is €574 and the average price per square meter is €44.49. Room Ranger found 28 rooms in Delft last week, sign up so you can always be the first to respond.

A “room” refers to a room in a shared house. This means you’ll share a front door and, in some cases, a bathroom, kitchen, and living room with one or more roommates. Rooms are the most affordable option for living in Delft because you can share many expenses, such as an internet subscription, city taxes, etc. Furthermore, some tenants specifically choose a room because they enjoy not living alone in a house.

Shared houses in Delft are often occupied by people who found each other through the hundreds of Facebook groups created online for this purpose or through other online platforms, such as Kamernet or MyHospi. On average, in Delft you share your home with 4 roommates. Shared homes are often occupied by people between the ages of 18 and 35; the average resident in Delft is 22 years old.

Rooms are usually assigned through “hospitations”—a day when current residents invite one or more people for an introductory interview and then choose their future roommate. With Room Ranger, you can be sure you’ll be notified of all new rooms so you never miss a hospitation.
